DEARBORN COMMUNITY FOUNDATION UNVEILS MORE INFORMATIVE, USER-FRIENDLY WEBSITE

Lawrenceburg, Ind., November 16, 2007 – The Dearborn Community Foundation flipped the switch this week on a new more informative and user-friendly website.

The new website (www.dearborncf.org) is the latest tool in DCF’s effort to do an even better job communicating to the Dearborn County community, said Fred McCarter, Executive Director of DCF. “The website provides even more information for individuals, organizations and businesses interested in making charitable contributions and it is more user-friendly for organizations and students seeking grants and scholarships,” he said.

The new website provides a wide variety of information about the Foundation – ranging from vital information about scholarship and grant programs and the benefits of using the Foundation as a tool for charitable giving to DCF history and a listing and photos of the governing board and staff members.

The website is also designed to answer the questions folks have about the Dearborn Community Foundation and how the organization can help folks make their charitable wishes come true, McCarter said. “We included web pages on frequently asked questions (FAQs), facts about community foundations, and a glossary of terms used in the community foundation and charitable word,” he said.

Important information about grant and scholarship programs, including policies and applications are available on the new web site, McCarter said. “Our intention is to provide grant and scholarship applicants with as much information as possible online.”

A significant improvement with the new website is that grant and scholarship applicants now can download applications and type into the forms, McCarter said. Of course, the nature of the materials requested in grant and scholarship applications still requires applicants to fill out the forms, add attachments and then deliver or mail the applications to the DCF office prior to stated deadlines, he said.
