TWO NEW STAFF MEMBERS JOIN DCF TEAM

Lawrenceburg, Ind., October 17, 2008 – Two new staff members recently joined the office team at Dearborn Community Foundation (DCF). Andrea Nappier of Dillsboro, is the new Administrative Assistant and Denise Sedler of Aurora has joined DCF as Program Director.

Nappier joined the DCF team in July after serving as the Patient Placement Specialist for the last 10 years at The Waters of Dillsboro – Ross Manor. Andrea brings a wealth of professional experience to the Foundation with a vast background in administration as well as experience in marketing.

“It’s very rewarding being a part of a team at an organization that does so much for the community,” Nappier said. “It’s personally rewarding to know that we’re helping donors make a difference.”

Sedler joined the Foundation staff in early October. She has significant experience in the areas of communication, marketing, administration and finance. She spent nine years with Procter & Gamble in administration, finance and as an Employee Program Specialist in the company’s human resources department. She also served as Employee Program Specialist for IBM Corporation.

“I am excited to join the Dearborn Community Foundation team,” Sedler said. “It’s an honor to be a part of an organization that has such a positive impact on the community.”

In the role of program director, Sedler manages grant and scholarship programs at DCF. Her duties include working with area not-for-profit organizations to assist them in applying for grants available through the Foundation. She also works closely with each of the Dearborn County school corporations, area colleges and post-secondary institutions, students and parents to raise awareness of scholarships and educational grants available through the Foundation.

Both Nappier and Sedler are experienced communicators that fit very well into their roles at the Foundation, said Fred McCarter, DCF Executive Director. “Both Andrea and Denise care about their community and have passion for making a difference in Dearborn County,” he said.

Sedler also is involved in the Dearborn County community, McCarter added. She handles marketing and communications for St. Mary’s School. She currently serves as Vice President of the Catholic Order of Foresters – St. Mary’s Chapter, Aurora. She also has served Vice President of St. Mary’s Parent/Teacher Organization (PTO) as well as a Junior Achievement Volunteer for Elementary and Jr. High students. Sedler has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Indiana University.
