DCF's 8th ANNUAL GOLF SCRAMBLE FUNDRAISER SET FOR AUGUST 24
Lawrenceburg, INDIANA, July 21, 2009 – Dearborn Community Foundation’s 8th Annual Golf Scramble fundraiser is slated for Monday, August 24, at Hidden Valley Golf Club. Aurora Lions Club, Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg and UCB Charitable Foundation are the “Presenting Sponsors” for the event. Hidden Valley Golf Club and the Rupel Family are donating the use of the golf course to the Foundation for the eighth straight year.
Proceeds from the golf scramble support the Foundation’s mission to create a permanent legacy through endowed grant and scholarship programs that forever give back to the Dearborn County community, said Fred McCarter, Executive Director of Dearborn Community Foundation, Inc.(DCF).
“We appreciate the continuing support of both our presenting sponsors and, of course, the incredible generosity of Hidden Valley Golf Club and the Rupel Family for their longtime support of the Foundation,” McCarter said. “All sponsors and golfers who participate in the event provide fine examples of philanthropy in our community. …With the poor economic conditions we all are experiencing, our hope is individuals and businesses will still find a way to participate in this great event that truly helps the Foundation make a difference in our community in good and bad economic times.”

The DCF golf scramble event day registration is 11 a.m. to Noon with a Noon shotgun start on August 24. An awards dinner with prize drawings will follow play in the Hidden Valley Golf Club Clubhouse. Golfers can also participate in games throughout the golf course, including two chances to win a $10,000 cash prize with a hole-in-one on one of two par 3 holes.
Golfers can participate in the event by paying a $100 per player registration fee or $400 for a foursome. The Foundation is also seeking Food & Beverage Sponsors, Hole Sponsors and Door Prize Sponsors for the golf fundraiser. A hole sponsorship is $100 per hole and a Food & Beverage Sponsorship is $500.
