DCF YOUTH COUNCIL SUPERHERO 5K RIASING FUNDS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN DEARBORN COUNTY

5K Run/Walk Slated for April 30

Lawrenceburg, Ind., APRIL 10, 2017 – The Dearborn Community Foundation (DCF) Youth Council Superhero 5K Run/Walk on Sunday, April 30 will raise funds for Special Olympics Indiana Ripley Ohio Dearborn Counties and the DCF Youth Council Endowment Fund.

The Youth Council, which is made up of high school-age youth (grades 9-12), will split proceeds from the 5K Run/Walk 50-50 between Special Olympics and the DCF Youth Council Endowment Fund, which was established to allow the youth to make grants to charitable causes in Dearborn County.

“Anyone who participates in the Youth Council 5K Run/Walk is helping these fine young people make a difference in their community now and into the future through the endowment,” said Fred McCarter, DCF Executive Director. “It’s also a great chance to do something healthy!”

The DCF Youth Council 5K Run/Walk is at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 30, at the Lawrenceburg portion of the Dearborn Trails near the Ivy Tech Community College Riverfront Campus. Runners and walkers can register for the race by visiting stuartroadracing.com, or by stopping by the DCF office at 322 Walnut Street, Lawrenceburg. Race-day registration is available from Noon to 12:45 p.m. on April 30. Pre-registration cost is $15 for youth age 14 and under, and $20 for age 15 and older (includes race T-shirt until Tuesday, April 11). Registration after April 11 and on race-day is $20 for age 14 and under, and $25 for age 15 and older (T-shirts available while they last).
