This scholarship was established in memory of Gayle Lightner, an educator, whose
career spanned more than 40 years. Mrs. Lightner passed away in June of 2022.
More than 30 years of her teaching career was spent teaching math at
Lawrenceburg High School (LHS). She was a dedicated mentor to both staff and students and encouraged them to have a positive impact on others through
leadership and mentorship to make LHS a more inviting, supporting, and
welcoming place. She exemplified these traits in various ways such as chairing the
high school math department, serving as student council sponsor, and mentoring
new teachers.
This scholarship fund was established to recognize Lawrenceburg
High School students, who positively impact others through leadership,
mentorship, and Tiger Pride.
Amount of Scholarship: Up to $500.
