Anyone who crossed paths with Adam Wilhelm was truly blessed to know an energetic, fun, smart and loving young man. He wanted the best for his friends, soccer teammates and those around him. Adam would do anything for someone he loved and didn’t need anyone’s approval to be himself. Adam passed away tragically in March 2011 due to a sudden illness during his final year at Purdue University.

To honor Adam’s legacy, his teammates, friends and loved ones bonded together to carry on Adam’s legacy in a positive light through Adam’s favorite activity: soccer. A four-year varsity letter winner at East Central High School, Adam loved soccer and looked forward to the annual Alumni Game each August. In light of Adam’s passing, the Alumni Game was reformatted to benefit the Adam Wilhelm Memorial Scholarship Fund to enrich the lives of current East Central student athletes who will never be fortunate enough to meet Adam.

The fund is organized by those who gained a great friend during their short time with Adam. He was a leader on and off the field. The scholarship will be given to a student athlete and EC Men’s soccer player who demonstrates the same leadership qualities that made Adam an excellent role model and friend.
